Exercise on कहीं and the expression of fear
Following the model change the given sentences from the somewhat stilted expression of a negative hope to the more idiomatic one of positive fear. (The overall meaning will remain roughly the same.):
Model: उसे यह उम्मीद (या आशा) थी कि चोरी न होगी । => उसे यह डर था कि कहीं चोरी न हो जाए ।
1. आशा यह थी कि हमें नहीं देखेंगे । => भय यह था कि ... ... ... ... ... ।
2. उम्मीद यह है कि मैं फिसलकर नहीं गिरूँगी । => डर यह है कि ... ... ... ... ... ... ।
3. उसे आशा थी कि गाड़ी स्टेशन से निकली नहीं है । => उसे डर था कि ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...।
4. आशा थी कि तुम इस चक्कर में फँसे तो नहीं हो । => डर था कि ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...।
5. किसान आशा कर रहे हैं कि पौधे नहीं सूखेंगे । => किसान डर रहे हैं कि ... ... ... ... ... ।
6. मुझे उम्मीद है कि तू मेरी दुश्मन नहीं बनेगी । => मुझे डर है कि ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ।
